The announcement
On 6 May 2026 Saudia confirmed that HalaBag is integrated across its network for the 2026 Hajj Without Luggage season: 145 destinations and more than 400,000 pilgrims covered, with 24-hour delivery to Makkah hotels. On 19 May the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched the season's programme, reported by Arab News among others.
HalaBag's role, precisely
HalaBag is the technical partner for the airline initiatives: Saudia's, and flynas's Hajj and Umrah baggage services. It runs the baggage case from collection through airport processing to hotel delivery for those airlines. It does not operate the Ministry's own platforms, such as Nusuk, and makes no claim to.
What the initiative does
Pilgrims travel without carrying their baggage. Bags are collected at the point of departure, screened and accepted into the airline's process, tracked through departure and arrival, and delivered to the pilgrim's hotel. Airlines, airports, handlers, logistics providers, hotels and the programme authority each see the part of the journey they are responsible for, on one record per bag.
Why it matters beyond the season
A carrier-confirmed, publicly announced deployment is a credential that cannot be built, only earned. It also demonstrates the platform's design: multi-tenant, multi-station, multi-provider, with custody confirmed at every hand-off. The same platform runs lost item and mishandled baggage operations across seven airports all year.
